Calvin Christian School was established in 1952. The Bible is central to education at Calvin Christian School.
CCS has about 450 students from JK to Grade 8, with a pupil/teacher ratio of 21:1
The faculty consists of 16 full-time and 8 part time teachers; all of whom are fully certified and Christian.
CCS offers a complete range of academic programs for all eight grades. The curriculum design follows the official Ministry of Education curriculum in skill objectives and content requirements.
CCS families come from more than 40 local Christian churches.
The students visit nursing homes, senior citizen and retirement homes to provide songs, music and kind words for the benefit of the residents.
The students raise money and goods for Mission Services and for causes in Third World countries.
The students assist the Neighbour to Neighbour food bank by bringing goods, and helping out with some of the day to day tasks.
The students are involved in fundraising for community organizations such as The Heart and Stroke Foundation by participating in Jump Rope for Heart and The Canadian Cancer Society by participating in the Terry Fox run.
The school is located at 547 West 5th Street, on the West Mountain in Hamilton, Ontario.
