Are you looking for a school for your child that provides quality education and Christian education in one clear and tested package? You have come to the right place.
Calvin Christian School is a well established academic day school located on Hamilton Mountain for more than 50 years. It is accredited through Canadian Hallmarks Institute. The school seeks to assist parents of the Christian community by providing for each student a Christian education from grades JK to eight. The parents enrol their children in the school because they desire a Bible based education that nurtures growth in knowledge, maturity and commitment to God.
Currently the school has over 420 students from 230 Christian families. Most of the families reside in the city of Hamilton. In general, the families are your typical families with average incomes. They have a strong determination to invest in their children's education. They pay a family rate tuition and participate in fund raising so that each child receives quality Christian education in a supportive classroom environment. The school has first rate, professionally certified faculty members and a dedicated support staff. It operates its own busing service.
Calvin Christian School is registered as a private school with the Ministry of Education. It provides a curriculum that meets the Ministry of Education standards and is fully comparable with the Ministry's guidelines. In addition, Calvin Christian School offers an extensive program that includes special education, standardized tests and a wide variety of extra-curricular activities. The school participates in community events and helps local community food banks. It rents out its facilities. The members of the school society elect a Board of Directors, which has the ultimate responsibility for the operation of the school.
